Amenities & Activities

Mertens House has a full time activity director who provides our residents with daily activities that challenge them physically and mentally. We enjoy musical entertainment at least twice a month. We love to celebrate holidays, watch movies, play games and have visits from area children and pets.

We have a professional hair stylist who comes weekly and can provide haircuts for both men and women.

We are a smoke free facility and meet state and federal fire and safety code standards.

Residents can choose either a whirlpool bath or shower with the assistance and supervision of a Licensed Nursing Assistant.

Each Tuesday morning, we have a volunteer who reads books or poetry to our residents.

Wednesdays after lunch, we play bridge in the conference room.

Weather permitting, our residents enjoy sitting out on the front porch or our deck.

We have non denominational vesper services each Sunday afternoon and Wednesday morning. Familiar hymns and reading scriptures are included in these services.

Our part time social worker attends our care conferences and is available to meet with families as needed.
