BIRTHDAYS AND MUSIC AT MERTENS HOUSE

As we welcome February, we welcome the first snowfall of the month. We enjoy watching it pile up on our deck. It is very entertaining and peaceful to watch the snow fall. Valentine’s Day is here and the month is already half over. Doris LeBaron and Sheila went to the Thompson Senior Center for lunch and a felt heart craft on Wednesday. Doris came back with her beautiful heart ornament. Colleen, Gail and Amy LeBaron were in this week to visit their mother, Doris. Richard and Gina Lancaster came by to see their father, John. Valeda Barcelow celebrated her birthday on Thursday. Her daughter, Georgina, granddaughter,Danielle and great granddaughters, Colette & Eloise were all here to celebrate her special day. They made a special trip from Indiana to come and visit. They enjoyed a lasagna luncheon prepared by her daughter. Everyone enjoyed birthday cake. Trisha Sarnoff and Gordon and Don Ware were in to spend time with their mother, Lillian. Alrene Midgley enjoyed visiting with her daughter Karen Hawkes and great granddaughter, Norah Wolfe. Ham Gillett and Jan Crow and Geoff, Esther, Silas and Deb Roecker were all in to see Fran Gillett. Watt Barker, Sandy Anderson and Caroline Bowen came by to see Lillian Ware. On Thursday afternoon, Andy Stewart and Mary Jo Slattery brought a little sunshine to a snowy, rainy day. They came with their guitars and percussion instruments and played some of our favorite songs, both old and new.

First Congregational Church was here on Sunday for Vespers.
